WIFI station mode

Step 1: Plug the USB WiFi adapter into LeMaker Guitar.
Step 2: Use command below to check the WIFI module which has been loaded on,and it shows the wlan2 on my LeMaker Guitar.Different devices may display various.

ifconfig -a

Step 3: Edit the /etc/network/interfaces like below:

allow-hotplug wlanX #X maybe 0.1.2....
iface wlanX inet manual 
wpa-roam /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
iface default inet dhcp

Step 4: Edit the /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf like below:

sudo vim /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
GROUP=netdev update_config=1

Step 5: Edit /etc/group
Add user lemaker to the group netdev, like this:


Reboot then open wpa_gui as shown below,wlan2 can be used normally.
Step 6: Connect to a WiFi:
Please refer to http://wiki.lemaker.org/LeMaker_Guitar:WiFi_configuration#Lemuntu to configure WIFI with wpa_gui.

WIFI AP mode

Step 1: Download hostapd

apt-get install hostapd

Step 2: Edit /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf file

sudo vim /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
interface=wlanx # x maybe 0.1.2...

ssid is WIFI name and wpa_passphrase is password name.
Step 3: Download dhcp

apt-get install udhcpd

Config /etc/dhcpd.conf

sudo vim /etc/dhcpd.conf

#The interface that udhcpd will use
interface   wlanx     #default: eth0
option  subnet
opt     router
opt     wins
option  dns
option  domain  local
option  lease   864000

Step 4: Execute the following command after reboot.
Enable dhcp service

udhcpd /etc/udhcpd.conf

Run hostapd

hostapd –B /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf

Now check whether your wifi hotspot can be shared with other devices or not.(The wifi name is WIFI_ap_test at here)
