Description

RT5572N is a usb wireless network adapter manufactured by Netcore company.It has the advantage of Built-in wireless roaming technology,intelligent switching solutions.When 2.4G is disturbed,it can automatically switch to 5G band vice versa.It supports 64/128 bit WEP,WAP,WAP2 encryption.Equipped with a key encryption has a WPS function routing WPS.It is compatible with Linux system and other mainstream operating system,IEEE802.11 a/g/n.

WIFI station mode

Step 1: Insert the wireless adapter into LeMaker Guitar.
Step 2: Download rt2870.bin file,moving rt2870.bin to the /lib/firmware/rtlWIFI directory then restart.
NOTE: On V1601 or newer released image, this firmware has already included in the system, so you can skip this step.

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install p7zip-full
sudo wget http://mirror.lemaker.org/RT5572N_Firmware.7z
7z e  RT5572N_Firmware.7z
mv  rt2870.bin  /lib/firmware/
sudo reboot

Step 3: Use command below to view the following data:ID 148f:5572 Ralink Technology Corp. RT5572 Wireless Adapter

sudo apt-get install usbutils
lsusb
ID 148f:5572 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5572 Wireless Adapter

Step 4: Use command below to check that the WIFI module has been loaded on,and it shows the wlan2 on my LeMaker Guitar.Different devices may display various.

ifconfig -a

WIFI AP mode

Step 1: Install the necessary tools: hostapd, rfkill and dhcp

apt-get install hostapd
apt-get install rfkill
apt-get install udhcpd

Hostapd wireless card can be switched to the AP(Master) mode by modifying the configuration file.And you can create an open (not encrypted)WEP,an open (not encrypted)WPA or an open (not encrypted)WPA2 wireless network.You can set various parameters of the wireless network card by modifying the configuration file,including frequency,signal,beacon packet interval,whether send beacon packets or not and response to the probe request.You can also set the mac address filtering conditions.
Rfkill is a subsystem of the Linux kernel,which can provide an interface to us.And it can query,activating and deactivate the radio transmission of the linux system in the interface.
Udhcpd is a small DHCP server for embedded systems.
Step 2: Hostapd Configuration
Create hostapd.conf profile in /etc/hostapd directory,as follows:

sudo apt-get install vim 
sudo vim /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf

Step 3: Dhcp Configuration after you install the udhcp tool,its corresponding configuration udhcpd.conf file are installed in the /etc directory.You need to reference the following content to reconfigure udhcpd.conf file .

sudo vim /etc/udhcpd.conf

Step 4: AP Enable

ifconfig  wlanX  192.168.100.1 up   # To wlan configure a static IP
rfkill unblock wlan  # Activate the wireless device
hostapd –B /etc/hostapd/hostapd.cof #Enable hostapd
udhcpd /etc/udhcpd.conf # Enable dhcp service

NOTE:If you use the NetworkManager tool to manage network in Linux system,we need to close the wireless network card in advance,then open the AP mode,otherwise it will report the following error.
